Stanley Wilson named as Artistic Director of TGMC
Stanley Wilson has served as Artistic Director of the Triangle Gay Men’s Chorus since January 2023, bringing a deep commitment to musical excellence, community building, and the transformative power of choral singing. Under his leadership, the Chorus has continued to grow as both a vibrant artistic ensemble and a visible, affirming presence for LGBTQ+ people and allies across the Triangle.
Stanley believes choral music is at its best when it tells stories that matter. His artistic vision centers on programming that is engaging, emotionally resonant, and accessible—balancing joy and humor with moments of reflection, advocacy, and shared humanity. Whether presenting beloved classics, contemporary works, or bold thematic concerts, he strives to create performances that invite audiences in and leave them feeling connected.
Equally important to Stanley is fostering a rehearsal environment where every singer feels valued, challenged, and supported. He is passionate about cultivating a sense of belonging, recognizing that the strength of the Chorus comes from the diversity of voices, identities, and experiences within it.
As Artistic Director, Stanley is proud to help advance the Chorus’s mission of using music to inspire change, build community, and celebrate the power of every voice.
